Hoopers Classes

Looking for a fun and exciting way to build the bond with your dog?

Hoopers is an agility based sport, that is low impact and great fun. The handler directs their dog around a course made up of a combination of hoops, barrels and tunnels.

Hoopers can be practiced at home, in the garden, at the park or in training classes. This growing sport gives your dog a physical and mental workout, developing teamwork skills and encouraging your dog to listen to you.

Hoopers is suitable for most dogs and handlers as long as they are healthy because there is no jumping involved.

Hoopers courses are exciting and flowing but do not contain any of the tight turns or high impact equipment found in agility making it safer for dogs of all ages to participate in.

In addition to this the equipment is easily accessible which means you can easily build your mini courses at home and practise the skills learned at class during the week.

“K9 Playtime Academy’s classes are different to other classes I have attended with my other dogs. The classes are the right size and tailored to the needs of the dog and the owner. The instruction is excellent – everyone is comfortable asking questions because of the friendly atmosphere. I liked that classes are all about positive reinforcement, you are working towards a beautifully trained dog and the dog is having a fab fun time during the process.”

Looking at ways of providing your dog with some great mental and physical stimulation?

If the answer is YES then join the K9 Playtime Academy Hoopertastic Team!

Classes are run outside in our outdoor training venue in Brize Norton. The venue allows us to give the dogs plenty of space and work within their comfort zones and also replicate real life distractions.

Our training is based on positive, modern principles focusing on the human and dog relationship and bond. We will cover the theory of how dogs learn based on scientific principles This aims to give you a better understanding of positive reinforcement methods and how you can teach your dog complex and exciting new skills.

Once your dog has completed this class we will aim at having continuation classes to further develop your skills if you have caught the Hoopers bug.

Classes are £15 and last an hour. They are run in small groups to ensure that you and your dog get individual attention and feedback throughout the course. Dogs are able to attend these classes from 9 months of age.
